This innovative team is building the backend of a groundbreaking new product, utilizing a modern tech stack like NodeJS, GraphQL, and AWS. You’ll be part of a collaborative, close-knit team, working together to shape the technical direction of this greenfield project. What You’ll Do:
- Design and develop resilient, scalable APIs using NodeJS and TypeScript, ensuring seamless integration with cloud technologies.
- Champion a user-centric approach, translating business requirements and architectural designs into high-quality engineering components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, QA, product owners, and scrum masters, to deliver exceptional digital solutions.
- Write, test, and maintain efficient, high-performance code, contributing to the entire product development lifecycle.
- Implement complex functionalities, optimize performance, and ensure code efficiency through advanced programming techniques.
- Conduct thorough code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to maintain the reliability and stability of digital solutions.
- Embrace Agile methodologies, actively participating in project planning, sprints, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Explore and implement new tools and frameworks to enhance digital solutions and drive innovation within the team.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, fostering knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Must-Haves:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- 3+ years of NodeJS development with TypeScript.
- 3+ years of automated UI testing experience using tools like Playwright and headless browser automation.
- 2+ years of cloud experience, preferably with AWS (API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, Secret Store, ECS).
- 2+ years of experience in an Agile environment, practicing CI/CD and TDD.
- 2+ years of on-call experience for a production application, utilizing telemetry tools like Opsgenie and New Relic.
- Strong understanding of various database solutions (SQL, NoSQL).
- Proficiency in API testing using tools like Postman, Supertest, Axios, Jest, and NodeJS Assert.
- Experience with log analysis and full-stack debugging using tools like New Relic, distributed tracing, and Chrome DevTools.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience developing GraphQL APIs.
- Exposure to cloud-based platform development (Azure, GCP, AWS).
- Experience with CI/CD tools like CircleCI and GitHub Actions.
- Experience developing applications using Airflow.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL on AWS.
- Backend experience with Express.js, Fastify, NestJS, and ECMAScript 2022.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $70 to $75 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
