As a Reimbursement Specialist, you will be the vital link between patients and their medications. You’ll work directly with the manufacturer, providing regular case updates and ensuring patients receive the support they need. Your expertise in prescription drug reimbursement will empower you to handle a variety of cases, from navigating insurance benefits to processing prior authorizations and appeals. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine your passion for healthcare with your analytical skills in a fast-paced, rewarding environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Master the intricacies of prescription drug reimbursement, including insurance plan types, PBM and major medical benefits, prior authorizations, and appeals.
- Become a patient advocate, handling inbound and outbound calls, providing support, and resolving reimbursement challenges.
- Maintain meticulous records, documenting cases with accuracy and clarity according to program guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external partners, ensuring seamless service for patients.
- Develop expertise in Medicare benefits, enrollments, and LIS assistance.
- Proactively manage your workload, setting priorities and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Embrace continuous learning by cross-training in all departmental roles.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Solid understanding of prescription drug reimbursement processes.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum of three years of experience in patient support or reimbursement services.
- Knowledge of Business Blocks and CPR+.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $16.41 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
