Become a key player in shaping the future of online selling! A global leader in e-commerce is searching for a skilled Usability Specialist to join their design team. You will be instrumental in crafting user-friendly interfaces for sellers, empowering them to manage their online businesses efficiently. Your passion for user-centered design will directly impact the millions of sellers who rely on this platform.
As a Usability Specialist, you will be the voice of the seller, ensuring their needs are at the forefront of the design process. You will conduct a wide range of user experience studies, from usability tests to field studies, to gather valuable insights. You will then translate these findings into actionable recommendations for the product team, shaping the development of intuitive and effective interfaces.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and document best practices for user research, creating a usability toolkit for both formal and informal studies.
- Champion usability best practices across the organization.
- Conduct various user experience studies, including usability tests, focus groups, field studies, surveys, and heuristic reviews.
- Design tasks and materials for testing, defining clear success criteria.
- Present study results and provide actionable recommendations to the product team.
- Observe user sessions, analyze findings, and collaborate with designers to ensure usability improvements are implemented effectively.
- Collaborate with designers to refine wireframes and mockups, ensuring a positive user experience.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Technical Communication, Human Computer Interaction, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in user research and conducting formal usability studies.
- Proven track record of conducting usability studies and user research, including contextual inquiry, screening questions, plans, and reports.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex information to technical teams.
- Strong interest in user needs and workflows.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage self-directed projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $45.70 to $50.78 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
