Job Summary

Responsibilities

User Discovery & Understanding:
-
Conduct comprehensive user research through interviews, surveys, contextual inquiries, and other proven methods to uncover user problems and content requirements.

Assist in the creation of detailed user journeys and storyboards to visually represent user experiences and needs.

Develop a keen understanding of current trends in user consumption habits and integrate this knowledge into research practices.

Analyze qualitative user data to extract meaningful insights that will inform user experience strategy.

Design Research & Analysis:

Propose and refine research hypotheses and contribute to the development of robust research execution plans.

Gather and verify the reliability and accuracy of qualitative and quantitative data, identifying and addressing any informational gaps or inconsistencies.

Translate complex research findings and metrics into actionable recommendations that directly influence design and business strategies.

Ensure all research practices adhere to legal and ethical guidelines.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Influence:

Identify, analyze, and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Communicate complex information, research findings, and strategic recommendations clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, including cross-functional teams and leadership.

Build and maintain productive, collaborative relationships, fostering consensus and driving meaningful action based on data-driven insights.

Prepare and present logically structured and compelling reports and materials.

Customer-Centric Focus & Iteration:

Actively seek and analyze user feedback to identify opportunities for product and service enhancements.

Propose process improvements to increase efficiency and enhance the overall customer experience.

Contribute to the usability testing process by helping to define user profiles, develop test plans and scenarios, and document findings from alpha and beta tests.

Leadership & Best Practices:

Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in user research and apply this knowledge to the development and improvement of action plans.

Provide expert guidance to team members on the application of best practices in user discovery and research.

Model and support company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.

Qualifications and Skills
-
User Discovery:
-
Proven experience with a variety of user experience strategies, including conducting user interviews, surveys, and contextual inquiries.

Proficiency in creating user journeys and storyboards.

Managing Functional Partnerships:
-
Demonstrated ability in stakeholder identification, mapping, analysis, and communication.
-
Strong understanding of stakeholder engagement techniques and methods for evaluating stakeholder management effectiveness.

Fluency in business vernacular and a deep understanding of market dynamics to deliver customer and business value.

Adaptability to accommodate diverse cultural contexts and communication styles.

Design Research:
-
Solid grasp of research principles and best practices in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.

Strong data analysis skills and the ability to detect and fill gaps in information.

Awareness of legal risks, factual errors, and ethical considerations in research.

Experience in defining and measuring the success of research projects.

Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, with an ability to adapt communication style to various situations.

Experience with journey mapping and process optimization to enhance user experiences.

Familiarity with the fundamentals of usability testing against design specifications.

Knowledge of the activities and documentation associated with user acceptance testing, including alpha and beta tests.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $110k to $125k. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
