EXCITING SENIOR MANAGER DESIGN OPERATIONS ROLE in BENTONVILLE, ARKANSAS

Our client, the nation’s largest retailer, is looking for an effective leader focused on building and mentoring teams and workflow for high impact results. Is accountable for the craft and timely delivery for all work under management. Owns and presents strong design (or discipline appropriate) POV to shape market-leading solutions via the product roadmap.

· Recognized expert in design operations , maintaining cross-functional awareness and facilitating effective communication in collaboration with cross functional partners

· Produces and manages a portfolio of high quality work. Operates at both tactical and strategic levels on highest priority programs that impact the entire Design team

· Trusted thought partner to Senior Leadership Team. Plays critical role in shaping, driving and leading the execution of high priority programming for Design

· Independently makes tradeoffs between short and long-term design ops goals. Requires almost no oversight regarding priorities for design ops and is able to allocate time appropriately

· Leads design ops initiatives that have a large, measurable impact on the Design team’s success. Actively tailors design ops approach to task at hand and guides team execution

· Mentors design ops practitioners and translates organizational goals into clear priorities, enabling the team to better understand the context in which we operate

· Identifies gaps in partner, project and design knowledge and works with partners to gather data that improves decisions

Management:

· Sets clear goals for projects and holds self and team accountable for achieving them

· Clears roadblocks for achieving strong design outcomes across a portfolio of projects

· Participates in building and managing the Design team through the entire, on-going process: sourcing candidates, interviewing, hiring, project mentoring and career management of new hires

Leadership:

· Seen within Design team as a leader with a strong point of view and ability to influence the parts of the portfolio they are leading

· Sets the vision for area of ownership—and it’s inspiring and motivating to others

· Leads storytelling across projects and initiatives to create the conditions for maximizing design’s impact

· Actively participates in Design team leadership forums and takes on tasks beyond core area of responsibility to assist in overall team leadership (i.e. hosting a staff meeting)

Level expertise:

· Worked seamlessly at the micro and macro level in collaborations with peers, partners and team members at all levels

· Improved other team members through association, collaboration and career management

· Successfully harmonized discipline specific quality and business value across the portfolio to achieve personal and team goals

· Proactively sought to improve design efficacy and communicated success, broadly. Noticeably influenced the product roadmap
