Our client, a leading retail media network, has partnered with Aquent, to find a Senior Data Engineer to join their Data Science team. In this contract role, you will help build and optimize cutting-edge data pipelines that fuel statistical measurement, machine learning-driven audience creation, and predictive modeling.
You will support an innovative retail media network that connects millions of customers with top brands through data-driven marketing solutions. By leveraging customer preferences, behavior, and purchase trends, you will help to deliver highly effective, personalized advertising experiences.
Role Overview
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining the data engineering pipelines that power this retail media giant’s success. You’ll collaborate with data scientists and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust, scalable data solutions. Your expertise in building and optimizing data pipelines will directly impact the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and drive business growth.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and support strategic objectives.
- Develop and optimize data products, from ETL processes to complex event-driven pipelines.
- Implement data monitoring and performance management using best practices.
- Standardize and automate data processes through pipeline development and optimization.
- Proactively identify and resolve technical issues, providing scalable solutions.
- Work on ad-hoc projects leveraging diverse data sources, including marketing spend and campaign performance.
- Influence decision-making by providing data-driven insights to IT and business stakeholders.
What You Must Bring
- 3+ years of experience in data management within retail media, digital media, marketing, or advertising.
- Strong SQL and Python skills, experience with industry-standard tools like Airflow or Google Cloud Composer, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse, Data Factory & Fabric.
- Experience working across multiple data environments (on-prem and multi-cloud).
- Expertise in using code repositories (e.g., Git) and CI/CD best practices with tools like Azure DevOps.
- Ability to translate data science requirements into data pipeline specifications.
- Balance of technical and business acumen, with an understanding of how data will be used.
- B.S. in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science (equivalent experience considered).
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
Experience with PySpark, Hadoop, and KNIME Business Hub.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is C$38 to C$45/hr, T4. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
