As a Terminology Manager, you’ll be immersed in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain and enhance linguistic assets. Your meticulous attention to detail and problem-solving skills will be key to improving processes and tools, contributing to the overall efficiency of the localization workflow. You will work with a variety of internal teams and external vendors, ensuring terminology consistency across all lines of business. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine your linguistic expertise with technical skills, making a tangible impact on a global scale.
Responsibilities:
- Create, manage, and maintain glossaries, style guides, and other linguistic and cultural assets in up to 40 locales.
- Collect feedback from stakeholders, establish quality requirements, and collaborate with the Localization QA team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple time zones.
- Provide solutions and follow through to their conclusion.
- Gather feedback, flag potential language and cultural sensitivity issues, and recommend solutions.
- Optimize workflow, tools, and processes for team scalability.
- Implement and foster globalization/internationalization/localization best practices.
- Create, maintain, and update related documentation.
- Check reference documentation and support validation.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Assess and communicate language needs for the UI Localization labs.
- Manage daily and long-term coverage, finding solutions as needed.
- Create and manage tasks in an agile project management tool.
- Co-host and participate in internal team meetings.
- Oversee review process and assist in data handling.
- Anticipate tool training needs and create tasks for vendors.
- Manage and resolve bugs.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- High attention to detail with an ability to see the big picture and handle ambiguity.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Strong familiarity with the client ecosystem (hardware, software, and services).
- Sufficient understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Native-level fluency in a language other than English.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $50.37 to $55.97 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
