As a Content Production Specialist/Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in bringing cutting-edge design concepts to life, ensuring a seamless blend of creativity and technical precision. Your meticulous approach and problem-solving skills will be essential in crafting high-quality templates and themes, impacting how users interact with productivity applications across multiple platforms.
As a Content Production Specialist/Engineer, you will be the driving force behind transforming design visions into tangible products. Your deep understanding of design principles, combined with your technical prowess, will enable you to build and refine templates and themes that empower users to create compelling content. Collaborating closely with designers and engineers, you’ll ensure that the final product meets the highest standards of quality and usability.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the process of translating designs into technical products, including templates and themes.
- Manage and execute hands-on production and workflow development.
- Collaborate with Content Design to produce new design templates.
- Build new templates, adhering to established methods for successful deliverables and testing.
- Conduct audits of template features, functions, imagery, and placeholder text.
- Pressure test new template designs, identify discrepancies between design goals and production realities, and collaborate with engineering to add new features when necessary.
- Perform accessibility testing of new templates and sample documents.
- Conduct internal quality assurance to ensure bug-free integration of new content into builds.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and human interface teams on new feature implementation.
- Manage content creation, incorporating new features in parallel with feature development.
- Inform engineering regarding content creation/import processes and dependencies.
- Manage GitHub repositories, including checking out/in changes, tracking file changes, and resolving conflicts.
- Utilize SourceTree and/or Terminal for GitHub management.
- Respond to and deploy updated engineering requirements, including creating pull requests for multiple repository check-ins.
- Collaborate closely with engineering on new process requirements, testing, and refinement.
- Write, investigate, and fix bugs, requiring a deep understanding of application functionality and template intent.
- Collaborate with design on bug fixes versus template design/layout adjustments.
- Communicate with engineering regarding updates to native tools in response to bug fixes, feature additions, or process enhancements.
- Proactively define and test native tool improvements in collaboration with Content Engineering.
- Maintain awareness of localization layout impacts in new template designs.
- Collaborate to fix localization bugs, ensuring design integrity and functionality for templates in other regions.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Highly organized and skilled at identifying inconsistencies
- Ability to find simple solutions to complex problems
- Proficiency in managing multiple files and various applications
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, iterative environment
- Systematic thinking
- Experience in complex technical workflows in a software environment
- Experience in software testing on different hardware environments
- Fluency in presentation, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
- Understanding of GitHub, Terminal, and bug tracking systems.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Management experience in a related field
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Coding and software development experience
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $76.50 to $85.00 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
