As a Help Desk Specialist, you will be the friendly voice and technical guide for colleagues seeking assistance. Your expertise will be essential in diagnosing and resolving their IT issues, ensuring they can seamlessly perform their tasks. You’ll be instrumental in maintaining the organization’s technology infrastructure, troubleshooting problems, and contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide top-notch phone and email support to teammates facing IT hurdles.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software glitches with your technical prowess.
- Continuously expand your IT knowledge and skills to stay ahead of the curve.
- Identify and escalate urgent situations, ensuring timely intervention.
- Meticulously document issue details and troubleshooting steps in a ticketing system.
- Collaborate with IT teammates to find lasting solutions and document resolutions.
- Conduct independent research to tackle technical challenges effectively.
- Contribute to the creation of technical documentation, sharing your expertise.
- Maintain a solid understanding of IT roles and responsibilities within the organization.
- Assist in managing hardware and software inventory.
Must-Haves:
- High school diploma or equivalent with some computer training certification.
- Two plus years of experience in IT support or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse colleagues.
- Keen attention to detail and a knack for creative problem-solving.
- Ability to grasp the context of an issue and communicate it effectively.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Operating Systems and Office products.
- Ability to juggle multiple assignments with minimal supervision.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Degree in a computer technology or related field.
