Your expertise in automated testing will be essential to delivering seamless and high-performance solutions that push the boundaries of what’s possible in mixed reality. As a Software Design Engineer in Test, you will be immersed in a dynamic environment, collaborating with talented engineers to deliver exceptional user experiences. You will focus on testing mixed reality and virtual reality applications, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance across various devices, including integration with VR headsets. Your insights and expertise will directly influence the development process, driving quality and innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute test plans, scenarios, and scripts for the operating system, mixed reality, and virtual reality platforms.
  • Test system modifications to validate proper implementation and performance.
  • Develop automated test programs for software, database, and hardware interactions.
  • Document and report software defects through bug tracking systems.
  • Monitor bug resolution and collaborate with developers on fixes.
  • Maintain a database of known defects, prioritizing mixed reality-specific issues.
  • Plan and schedule tests in alignment with project timelines and scope.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in software testing with a focus on automation and performance.
  • Proficiency in programming language and Android development using Java/Kotlin.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining automated test scripts.
  • Proficiency in writing detailed test documentation, plans, and reports.
  • Ability to analyze test results and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • 4+ years of experience developing and implementing tests.
  • 3-5 years of experience with programming language
  • 3+ years of experience with Android development using Java/Kotlin.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in C/C++.
  • Experience developing automated tests for VR/MR applications.
  • Experience developing automated tests for operating system applications.
  • Experience with performance testing and profiling for low-latency applications.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $70/hr – $75/hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
