Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a dynamic team working on a migration project from AWS to Databricks. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of 6-7 professionals and contribute to the design, development, and migration of data solutions. The role offers remote flexibility, but candidates must be available to work during PST hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and enforce database management standards, guidelines, and quality assurance for deliverables.
- Design and document database structures, including conceptual designs, logical databases, and data security policies.
- Develop, install, and maintain database management systems (DBMS) for technical platforms.
- Code complex programs, implement logical processes, and build windows, screens, and reports for data applications.
- Assist in user interface design and prototype development for business applications.
- Participate in quality assurance processes and develop test code in a client-server environment.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop tables, fields, and relational data models.
- Evaluate and adapt business requirements to create efficient data specifications, tables, and element attributes for applications.
- Ensure appropriate data storage, organization, and table relationships for optimal performance.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in data engineering.
- Strong skills in Spark, SQL, Airflow, Databricks, and Python.
- Experience with AWS and Databricks preferred (certifications are a plus but not required).
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage time effectively and take initiative.
Nice to Have:
- AWS and/or Databricks certifications.
- Experience with stakeholder management and collaborating across teams.
