*We are looking for authorized, local T4 candidates who can commute twice per week to our client’s Greater Toronto area, ON office.

Our large client seeks a UX Strategy and Design Manager to influence and inspire their design team. In this Consultant role, you will ensure customer centricity when designing best-in-class digital experiences that add value to customers across digital products.

The UX Strategy & Design Manager will lead the ideation and development of design strategies for Web and Mobile Apps to facilitate information discovery, customer onboarding and servicing for financial products and services.

What You Will Do

Management Accountabilities

  • Set the priorities of the work team
  • Lead team meetings (setting the agenda, chairing the meetings etc.)
  • Assign work to other members of the work team/department
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to other members of the work team/department
  • Supervise the day-to-day work of employees within the same work team/department
  • Conduct performance assessments for all direct reports; deliver feedback and assessment results
  • Responsible for salary change recommendations during the annual merit cycle

Leadership Accountabilities

  • Deliver on customer centricity through coordination of research into design processes to ensure teams are validating and iterating based on customer and industry insights.
  • Manage, coach and grow UX Designers within the practice delivering on web and mobile applications.
  • Research and recommend UX Strategy and Design best practices and principles for designers to follow.
  • Represent the UX team, share updates, and gain support from senior leadership and partnering departments within the company (product, development, quality assurance, etc.).
  • Work with Product Managers, Accessibility Leads and Engineering leads to contribute to product planning and feature definition, leveraging qualitative and quantitative data to help drive informed decision-making.
  • Help the team balance tactical and strategic priorities, ensuring that UX design, prototyping, user feedback, and performance data are consistently used to maximum impact in the development process.
  • Ensure UX designers are delivering accessible, compliant, user experiences for all required standards.
  • Manage and evolve workflows and resources to deliver high-quality creative assets on time to support the achievement of business objectives.
  • Build relationships and evolve with the broader organization design community

What You Will Bring

EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years experience creating exceptional digital experiences at a digital agency or financial services company in a UX Design leadership role or similar. Strong preference for regulated industry experience.
  • 3+ years experience managing a UX design team
  • Experience collaborating with UX & UI Designers, Researchers and Copywriters in building best-in-class digital experiences.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Ability to nurture talent and provide inspiring constructive feedback to designers and fellow managers.
  • Must be self-motivated and driven to deliver quality, focus and vision in a timely manner as they craft their team and deliver on customer centricity.
  • Expert working knowledge of Figma, Zeplin and JIRA
  • Strong interpersonal skills specific to verbal and oral communication and collaboration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in design, HCI, or equivalent work experience
