We are looking for authorized, local T4 candidates who can commute twice per week to our client’s Greater Toronto Area, ON office.
Our client is seeking a UI/UX Designer, Design Systems, to join their Digital Product team. In this Consultant role, you will be key to developing and maintaining the design system. You will ensure consistency and efficiency across all our products and platforms and support creative and innovative design at scale.
Working alongside the Lead Designer, you will have a deep understanding of design principles, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for creating cohesive and user-friendly experiences. We are looking for someone who is passionate about digital technologies and who will excel at creative thinking, problem-solving, and execution, are self-motivated, and possess strong organization and teamwork capabilities.
What You’ll Do
- Support the development and evolution of a design system, ensuring it aligns with the overall design strategy and business objectives.
- Work closely with the product and development teams to align the design system and also design engaging customer experiences based on stakeholder business cases, voice of customer feedback, and industry best practices.
- Support the creation and maintenance of documentation for the design system, including guidelines, components, and patterns, to facilitate easy adoption by the wider team.
- Conduct audits to ensure design system components and patterns meet quality standards, addressing inconsistencies and refining as needed.
- Maintain consistent visual standards and keep the living style guide up to date.
- Partner across teams at every stage to deliver the highest level of quality
- Review features implemented by engineering and provide guidance to ensure pixel-perfect experiences.
- Conduct and coordinate usability interviews to gather feedback and insights into customer needs.
- Complete concept, design, prototype, and help create in-product experiments.
- Skillfully explain your work, process, and decisions to cross-functional stakeholders and encourage feedback to produce your best work.
- Operate with a holistic, end-to-end journey mindset by leveraging Design Research, customer archetypes, and their actions and needs.
- Incorporate accessibility requirements into your design principles to ensure designs adhere to mandated standards.
- Collaborate with Marketing Operations, Business Stakeholders, and IT Partners to ensure timely project delivery.
What You Bring
- 5+ years working in UI/UX design roles, creating exceptional digital experiences
- Proven experience working with design systems, demonstrating successful design system implementations in complex enterprise organizations.
- Strong portfolio that demonstrates your design system experience
- Experience collaborating with UX & UI Designers, Researchers, and Product Owners to build ‘best-in-class’ digital experiences.
- Must be self-motivated and driven to deliver quality, focus, and vision for customer-centric digital experiences.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining consistency and high design standards.
- Familiarity with Design Thinking, usability principles, and accessibility guidelines.
- Expert working knowledge of Figma and Zeplin, where the design system is being built, as well as Adobe XD and Creative Suite
- Interpersonal skills specific to verbal and oral communication and collaboration
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies, preferably in SAFe
- Experience using JIRA and Confluence
- A drive for continuous learning and developing innovative user experiences
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or equivalent work experience
