Our client, one of the largest financial services companies, is seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Engineer / Data Visualization Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data visualization, particularly with Tableau, and will eventually transition to using Google Looker. Experience with other visualization tools is also valuable. A background in CyberSecurity is preferred, and proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and querying is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and manage advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards, and other BI solutions using Tableau, with an eventual transition to Google Looker.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into effective visualizations and reports.
  • Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to prepare data for analysis and reporting.
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of the data and reports provided to stakeholders.
  • Work on asset inventory and asset management, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of assets.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to drive business decisions.
  • Maintain and support existing BI solutions and ensure their optimal performance.
  • Stay updated with the latest BI and data visualization trends and technologies.
  • Work closely with the CyberSecurity team to integrate security data and provide actionable insights.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Business Intelligence Engineer, Data Visualization Engineer, or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Tableau; experience with Google Looker is a plus.
  • Experience with other data visualization tools is advantageous.
  • Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and querying.
  • Exposure to CyberSecurity concepts and data is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of asset inventory and asset management best practices.
  • Certification in Tableau, Looker, or other relevant BI tools.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and data modeling concepts.
