We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Consumer Research Manager to lead our research initiatives and provide deep customer understanding to inform business decisions across the organization.

The Ideal Candidate

  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within the consumer research industry, with a strong focus on quantitative research methodologies.
  • Proven track record of success in a fast-paced environment, with a history of exceeding research objectives and delivering impactful insights.
  • Extensive experience with leading research projects from conception to completion, including:
    • Survey design and development
    • Sample selection and management
    • Data analysis and interpretation
    • Reporting and presentation of findings to senior leadership
  • Expertise in quantitative research methodologies, including:
    • Online surveys
    • Mobile surveys
    • Telephone surveys
    • Statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, SAS)
  • Strong understanding of consumer behavior principles and their application to business challenges.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively translate complex research findings into actionable insights for a non-technical audience.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a team of research professionals.
  • Experience working within a matrixed organizational structure and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience at a leading research agency (Ipsos, Kantar, etc.) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute consumer research plans to identify trends, understand customer needs and preferences, and evaluate product performance.
  • Design and manage various research methodologies, including surveys, focus groups, in-depth interviews, and quantitative analysis.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (marketing, product development, sales) to define research objectives and ensure research findings are effectively communicated and implemented.
  • Analyze and interpret research data to uncover actionable insights and translate them into clear and concise reports and presentations.
  • Stay current on consumer research trends and best practices.
  • Manage and develop a budget for research projects.
  • Oversee and mentor research staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Consumer Psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in consumer research, with a strong understanding of research methodologies and data analysis techniques (e.g., surveys, focus groups, statistical analysis).
  • Proven track record of translating research findings into actionable business recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor communication style to different audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing research budgets (a plus).
  • Proficiency in research software (e.g., SPSS, SAS) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) is a plus.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience in the retail or food/bev industry or Agency experience.
