The Project Manager manages all day-to-day operational aspects of projects, project teams, budgets, scope, and client communications on our client’s projects. A strong appreciation for design and collaborating with creative teams is critical to delivering compelling results. This role manages complex, multi-discipline projects to successful completion supporting scoping/framing new projects, planning budgets and resources, building project teams, managing team dynamics and work productivity, and handling all internal and client communications. The primary measurement of success will center on project results that are on budget, on time, within scope and meet or exceed our client’s expectations.  On their client’s (an American multinational corporation that designs, manufactures, and sells airplanes, rotorcraft, rockets, satellites, telecommunications equipment, and missiles worldwide.) projects, the Project Manager partners with program management (which is responsible for client relationship); and creative leadership (which is responsible for creative content). On Non (Commercial) projects, the Project Manager partners with the Growth Team and creative leadership.  Collaboratively these roles work together to ensure the highest quality deliverable is achieved.  The Project Manager manages multiple clients and projects with a scope work ranging from $20K – $4M (or more), and project manages teams that can range from 1 to 20 employees/contractors concurrently.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Manger of Project Management
Internal: Program Management, project management peers, design management, creative leads and the design team
External: Management at client companies, contractors, industry influencers, and industry associations

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Work in close collaboration developing strong working relationships with creative direction, project management peers, growth team, program management, design management and client representatives.
• Model our client’s values and competencies; comply with policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Project Management
• Develop project estimates for new and revised work including performing risk assessment for all projects and generating clear project strategy, goalsand objectives, understand project scope and track and communicate all out-of-scope items to client.
• Review all major deliverables including project proposals and contract documents, ensuring project deliverables, budgets and schedule are agreed to by all internal stakeholders.
• Ensure the consistent application of project management practices, toolsand the Design

Management Framework.
• Negotiate with internal management and other project managers the staff and facility resources for projects.
• Manage the project team and scope changes while balancing budget, quality, and client expectations.
• Develop innovative solutions to challenges as they arise.
• Keep project backlog current and proactively plan resources as project needs change.
• Keep projects and programs on time, on budget and in scope while achieving content quality by actively managing resources and progress against plan.

Customer and Internal Communication
• Cultivate, strengthen and deepen relationships with clients.
• In collaboration with program management (and/or Growth Team) and creative leadership, work with the client to determine project scope, deliverables, timeline, and target budget.
• Identify ways to improve project deliverables, anticipate client needs, and offer solutions.
• In collaboration with creative leadership, ensure quality standards are met.
• Participate in all phase reviews (internal and client reviews) and ensure client expectations are achieved.
• Communicate project issues and progress to the internal team and internal relationship manager.
• Ensure that goals, expectations, and work plans are clear and understood.
• Keep project team and management informed on project budgets, timelines, and deliverable expectations.
• Provide input to the Design Managers on project team member performance.
• Work with customers to rectify challenging project or relationship situations and smoothtensions.

Business Development
• Participate in business development with both Program Management and the Growth Team.
• Scope and frame new projects for clients planning budgets, resources, content deliverables, and timelines.
• Educate the client’s understanding of the capabilities.
• Serve as our client’s ambassador to their clients by being strong stewards of both organizations.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 5% of the time.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is the equivalent of $50.00 to $55.00 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.

Knowledge and Experience
• Experience: 4+ years of experience as a project manager in a technology, mobility, aerospace, or airline environment.
• Knowledge of construction and/or manufacturing a plus
• Experience managing project teams of 5-10 employees/consultants.
• Experience with managing large, complex projects with intricate budgets, detailed schedules, experienced staff, and demanding clients.
• Experience with accrued revenue project accounting.
• Financial experience with developing and tracking project budgets.
• Demonstrated understanding and use of project management best practices, methodologies, and tools.
• Strong design or product development background required.
• Track record of excellent follow through and accountability.
• MS Project or other project management tools experience preferred.
• Enthusiasm for new ideas and the design process
• Serve as a TEAGUE ambassador to our clients by being strong stewards of both organizations

Physical Requirements
• Frequent interaction with clients and co-workers requires regular attendance in the workplace.
• Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear.
• Occasionally required to reach and grab objects.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
• Must be able to work flexible and/or extended hours.
• Frequent travel to other TEAGUE facilities in the greater Seattle area.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS
• Bachelor’s Degree in a creative field preferred
• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat, MS Project or other project management tools; basic Mac skills; familiar with personal productivity tools and mobile device technology.
• PMP certification or education from a PMI accredited organization preferred.
• Strong conflict resolution skills
• Organized and resourceful with great time management skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to put client at ease and build trust.
• Personality: a born leader, personable, organized, creative, diplomatic
• Calm under pressure.
