We are looking for a Visual Designer to join our client’s team. This will be a 4-month hybrid contract role based in Mountain View, CA. Mondays and Fridays will be remote days. 

Responsibilities

  • Drive the componentization of a device design systems, breaking down complex design patterns into reusable components, thereby enhancing efficiency and consistency across all projects.
  • Develop detailed documentation of the device design system, crafting a rich library of resources that drives understanding, adoption, and effective use of the system across the organization.
  • Serve as the gatekeeper for the device design system, maintaining its integrity, consistency, and relevance across all design and development efforts.
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality, thoughtful design solutions that take into account organizational and technical constraints.
  • Ensure the delivery of production-ready design specifications, SVG files, and assets in line with the established design system.

Skills/Experience:

  • 3–5+ years of professional experience with product, UX, and/or visual design.
  • Portfolio highlighting multiple projects and your direct contributions.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing, documenting, and maintaining design systems across platforms in an iterative product development environment using industry-standard design tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe Suite, or other design tools). 
  • Able to execute against several work streams in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment timezone difference, deliver detailed solutions that meet project deadlines, and proactively solicit and address feedback.
  • Able to produce digital assets, redlines/spec and drive the production phase of the design.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with strong visual/graphic design skills and proven ability to create aesthetically excellent design work.
  • 2+ years of experience establishing design systems for various brands.
  • Experience working with large tech companies in the past (contract or FTE).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other UX functions, PMs, and Engineering to deliver on impact and influence from product concept to launch.
  • Experience designing, prototyping, and implementing expressive UI that adapts and/or moves.
  • Familiarity designing with accessibility requirements and internationalization standards.

 

The target hiring compensation range for this role is the equivalent of $63.56 – $70.62 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
Additional benefits offered may include; medical health insurance and dental insurance, life insurance, and eligibility to participate in 401k plan with company match.
