Visual Designer

Overview

Aquent Studios is looking for a wildly talented designer with industry experience in social media, tech, and /or software, and a knock-your-socks-off portfolio of bold, dynamic work across various digital channels. Joining our client, a leading social media company, will mean partnering as a member of their marketing creative team and creators, to work hand in hand crafting world-class creative work.

Let us not mince words here: buttoned-up, tame corporate design portfolios will simply not make the cut for this team. It’s really a brave, playful, cutting-edge approach to design that is critical in this space. You should know how to play nice within brand guidelines while still having fun, letting loose, and creating something attention-grabbing. We have seen that a social media, tech, and/or software industry background has been a central component of success with supporting this client. 

Expect to create presentations, social collateral, brochures, paid media assets, and other mostly digital deliverables. A small portion of the role – perhaps 10% – will be motion/animation work. Some events projects – like sizzles, speaker bios, and keynotes – will be included throughout the year, to support summits and conferences. Illustration skills will come in handy on some of the projects you’ll be working on.

What you’ll do:

• Collaborate with creative leads and other colleagues to best support larger media goals • Ideate on creative ways to visually communicate new products, features and company developments to our advertising partners for international markets • Produce high-quality motion graphics, titles and animations for campaign touchpoints • Update projects, graphics, assets and templates to bring existing content in line with the most current product and design guidelines • Develop keynotes, sizzles, speaker bios etc. for virtual industry events • Create mockups and animations for visual concepts, layouts, etc. and rapidly iterate on them to generate and refine new looks • Meticulously recreate accurate representations of the chat app and UI and help visualize and animate unreleased UI and products. • Knowledge of various social media platforms and how to use video to engage with different audiences

• Manage ambiguity well in fast-paced environment with the ability to make informed decisions around evolving products • Passion for technology and critical points of view on its impact on people’s lives • Ability to think conceptually and transition creative ideas into well thought out design executions • Ability to present work in a clear and thoughtful manner • A spirit of collaboration and a problem-solving entrepreneurial mindset • Ability to build design systems and think in integrated fashion

Minimum Qualifications:

• Industry experience in social media, tech, and/or software • Experience with Figma • Experience with Premiere Pro and/or After Effects • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent experience • 6 + years of work experience in design • Digital video editing and motion graphics experience
