Please note this position requires you to be ONSITE 2 DAYS A WEEK in New York City

The Art Director will work on creating and translating global brand assets across all permanent
merchandising in US retailer stores. As well as essie Professional projects.
The Art Director will work collaboratively with cross functional teams to understand
merchandising strategies, target audiences, and communication objectives for all in-store visual
communications, including graphics and structures.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Translate the brand image into US permanent merchandising
  • Must be able to design within retailer style guides and brand vision.
  •  Requires project management skills and decision making on daily basis – able to handle
  • timelines, communicate urgencies, and execute accordingly.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Work and direct external suppliers: production house, printer, retoucher, etc.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Translating Global vision and advertisement into US mass market permanent
  • merchandising for National, CVS, Walmart, Target, Walgreens, etc.
  • Managing permanent merchandising artwork design, and structures across every major retailer.
  • Cross functional team interaction, marketing, wall strategy & merch ops, retail accounts, etc.
  •  Mechanical and Color proof review and approval.

Skills Required:

  • 5+ years of design experience with PRINT design within a retail environment.
  • Methodical approach to design with ability to see the big picture.
  • Basic understanding of planograms.
  • Must be able to assess priorities, organize workloads, and manage time.
  • Must be able to do quality hands-on design work and be flexible with frequent changes in direction.
  • Ability to multi-task, make quick decisions, problem solve.
  • Pay close attention to detail.
  •  Great typography skills and knowledge of print process.
  • Must be a team player but needs to be able to work independently where necessary.
  •  Basic trimming, cutting and comping skill.
  • Expert knowledge in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
