As part of the Omnichannel Strategy, Planning and Analytics function, the Omnichannel Analytics team helps lead our mission to be a customer-centric, data-driven organization. This team aggressively tracks client’s customer journeys by defining and executing data strategies derived to enable growth through the use of customer shopping behavior, needs, intents, and responses. The team also supports advanced analytics, machine learning, and a hypothesis-driven approaches that quickly transform data into actionable, customer-centric insights in fast-moving and energizing environment. The ideal candidate is detailed oriented with the ability to quickly understand complex situations, manage multiple urgent tasks, and communicate in an open and honest way that quickly builds trust and respect. 

This position is hybrid remote or on site at one of our client’s Analytics Hubs (Boston, NY, Chicago, or RI) and will report to the Director of Omnichannel Analytics with consistent exposure to senior leadership within the Loyalty and Omnichannel division.

 

As a Data Strategist, you will:

  • Develop and apply advanced data strategy solutions to current business needs, including: (1) the development and curation of best-in-class data assets (2) the establishment, maintenance, and tracking of metadata to support modeling and automation (3) the mapping of data sets to enterprise-wide data lakes, warehouses, and third-party sources (4) and the application of enterprise-wide governance and best practices.

  • Serve as product owner of the BI tool environment and data flow between tech stack layers, including data lakes/warehouses, database servers, automation tools, third party data sources, BI tools, output files and application integration (potential future state).

  • Identify opportunities for the development and enhancement of data assets that drive new analytics and modeling solution based on highly personalized customer strategies.

  • Effectively weight business and technical tradeoffs using an advanced understanding of business strategy, big data environments, and advancing ecommerce considerations.

  • Effectively liaison with business partners to understand business needs, effectively capture clear requirements documentation, and translate technical data strategy solutions.

  • Oversee program management activities including the definition of objectives and key milestones, team communication, leadership updates, stakeholder management, and the development of timelines.

  • Maintain relationships with a wide range of enterprise-wide partners including centralized IT functions, centralized and unit-level analytics functions, corporate legal and finance divisions, etc.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years total business experience
  • 5+ years experience leading analytic solutions with track record of business impact 
  • 3+ years’ experience strategy consulting or on strategy teams in large companies 
  • Advanced level of SQL use, and experience with MicroStrategy/ThoughtSpot are MUST HAVES for this role. Tableau and other BI tools are a plus. 
  • 3+ years’ experience with managing large scale projects, supporting multiple workstreams and working with multiple business stakeholders to influence decision-making

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 • Strong problem-solving skills – including data structuring, quantitative reasoning, synthesis, and implications development.  

• Excellent data presentation skills with the ability to communicate in a clear and consistent, manner tailored to stakeholder or audience, from analytic professionals to senior business leaders.

• Solid understanding and hands-on experience working in big data environments. Experience with Alation, Adobe, Other BI Tools is a plus. 

• Excellent project management skills and the ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment with agility and flexibility to evolving business demands.

• Experience establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with business partners and executive leadership, establishing deep understanding and ability to engage in business strategies and establish clear linkages to data & analytics.

 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience. 

Master’s degree in quantitative field or MBA strongly preferred.
