Copywriter/ Product Marketer (Higher Ed.)

Chicago, IL. (CST Preferred)
Salary: $54 - $61/ Hourly (W2)

Overview

Part-time, 10 - 15 Hours/Weekly (potential for increase) 


Our Client/University is looking for a creative Product Marketer/Copywriter to write clear and concise copy for training materials, publications, and websites. Your words will inform and engage internal employees and external target audiences. The ideal candidate is a team-spirited, skilled and imaginative writer with an eye for detail.

Responsibilities

  • Write clear, attractive copy in Client's distinct voice
  • Interpret copywriting briefs to understand project requirements
  • Collaborate with designers, PR and other professionals on large- and small-scale projects (e.g., training modules and landing pages)
  • Synthesize insights and research to inform copy
  • Edit and proofread copy as needed
  • Partner with SEO team to maximize copy’s reach
  • As needed, source images and other content

Requirements

  • Must have Portfolio/Work Samples (Positioning Decks, Strategic Alignment Decks, Messaging Maps, Brand Houses, Digital/Print Copy) 
  • 5 - 8+ years of Copywriting Experience (Product Marketing)
  • BS/BA in Marketing, English, Journalism, or related field
  • Knowledge of Higher Education
  • Knowledge of online content strategy and creation
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Experience with SEO
  • Strong research skills / curious 
  • Creativity
  • Collaborative spirit
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Passionate storyteller / conversational
